Best picture: Shakespeare in Love
The former “My So-Called Life” producer and director Edward Zwick received on Sunday his first Oscar(TM) for his work on “Shakespeare in Love”.
Zwick and his production company “Bedford Falls” (which also produced “My So-Called Life” and “thirtysomething”) co-produced the movie with Harvey & Bob Weinstein, Linda Bruce, Mark Cooper and more.
(If youve seen the Awards show: He was the man on the left with the close-cropped beard
Zwicks next project is the movie “Traffik” (to be released in 2000)
ABC did it
The new show of ex-MSCL-producer Scott Winant was cancelled in February because of low ratings.
Winant announced last year to eventually revisit “My So-Called Life” with the original cast in a CUPID story line.
CUPID centered about the Roman god of love who has been banished to Chicago, where he must unite 100 couples without his bow and arrow.
Celebrating “thirtysomething” …
On Thursday, March 11th at 7:00p.m. the Museum of Television & Radio in Los Angeles celebrates the 16th Annual William S. Paley Television Festival with a special “thirtysomething” event.
Special guests are Marshall Herskovitz, Winnie Holzman, Richard Kramer, W.G. “Snuffy” Walden, Scott Winant, Edward Zwick, Ellen Pressman (all of them were also involved in the producing of MSCL) as well as some more members of the former thirtysomething cast.
The event is probably already sold out but tickets may become available 15 minutes prior to starting time.
New faster server and more space
After some unfortunate occurences, Project MSCL.COM moved to a new faster server. This server provides us with much needed space and access to new web tools like PHP and MySQL database.
