Ten Years “My So-Called Life”

Blogged in MSCL by admin Wednesday August 25, 2004

First episode aired on August 25th 1994

Yes, its been already *that* long. Exactly ten years ago, on August 25th 1994 at 8pm, the first episode of “My So-Called Life” premiered on ABC. It was cancelled only 19 episodes later, in January 1995, but even a decade later, the show still gains new viewers and fans when the show gets reaired on networks like “The N” (April-June 2004) and the upcoming reairing in Canada (starting August 28th).

Please check our forum for a place to meet other fans of this great show.

Looking for MSCL Fans in LA for PBS Documentary

We received an email from Christopher Buchanan, the producer of a PBS documentary called “Do You Speak American?”. He describes the documentary as “all about language … what shapes it, how we use it, where we get it, etc. It will be done as a journey across the country, listening to people speak, and talking with them about language.”

For a segment about “the impact of TV and movies on language and the other way around” he is looking for fans who might have something interesting to say about the “voice” of MSCL.

Theyll be in LA around mid-January for shooting an interview with Winnie Holzman and other things, so if anyone is interested in presenting a fans opinion about MSCL (and Im sure you are interested … I know I would if I were in LA) … you can contact Christopher Buchanan at Cfbuchanan@aol.com . Note: You have to be in the Greater LA area (say Venture to Orange Co.) in mid-January.
